Fabric Buildings & Fabric Structures
Fabric Building Construction Experience
We've erected 1000's of fabric buildings across the United States for bulk road salt storage, sports facilities, warehousing, grain storage, and many other applications. We have a Division dedicated to fabric structures -- our team of fabric building estimators, project managers, and self-performing installation crews are highly knowledgeable and offer experience you can trust. Tension fabric buildings offer many advantages compared to conventional structures.
Customizable & Versatile Fabric Structures
Fabric covered buildings can be customized with ventilation, interior layouts, door and end wall options, HVAC, electrical, lighting, conveyer systems, fabric covers and colors, and more. Fabric buildings are ideal for a wide variety of applications in the commercial, industrial, and agribusiness industries, such as:
- Sports facilities
- Salt and sand storage
- Equipment storage
- Grain storage
- Dry fertilizer storage
- Boat slip covers
- Aircraft hangars
- And much more
Greystone's team was easy to work with, explained every detail of our fabric building, and was great from start to finish. I would recommend Greystone to anyone.
Brad Strgar, Balkan Township SupervisorBulk Salt Storage at Port of Mobile, Alabama
Greystone Construction completed two fabric bulk salt storage buildings at the Port of Mobile in Alabama, measuring 180' × 324' and 180' × 288'. The structures provide durable, high-capacity storage to protect bulk salt from the elements while supporting efficient material handling operations at the port.
Alpha Ridge, Maryland Composting Facility
To support the early stages of compost production, the GC Fabric Building Division constructed a 155’ x 224’ fabric building enclosure dedicated to pre‑processing. Inside the building, incoming green waste and food waste are combined and prepared for composting, and larger material is ground into smaller pieces using a grinding machine to create a more consistent blend. This controlled, covered workspace helps streamline material handling, creating an efficient, scalable composting workflow while supporting the County’s sustainability goals and protecting the surrounding environment.
Fabric Horse Barns at Canterbury Park
The Canterbury Park Barn Redevelopment & Backside Improvements is a landmark investment in Minnesota’s horse racing industry. Celebrating 30 years of live racing, Canterbury Park partnered with Greystone to deliver modern equine facilities, including state-of-the-art fabric horse barns, upgraded trainer spaces, a new stable gate entrance, and improved roadways—all replacing outdated structures.
Willmar, Minnesota Outdoor Covered Ice Rink
The GC Fabric Building Division recently completed this 117' x 232' fabric structure for the City of Willmar, Minnesota, to serve as a premium ice rink cover. Its open-ended design provides excellent airflow and visibility, while the column-free interior ensures unobstructed space for skaters and spectators. The fabric roof allows natural lighting, creating a bright and inviting environment while protecting the rink from snow, rain, and harsh weather. Engineered for durability and efficiency, this structure extends the skating season and reduces maintenance, making it an ideal solution for municipal recreation facilities.
Greene County Agronomy Services Fertilizer Building
The GC Fabric Building Division recently completed a 52,300‑SF custom Britespan fabric building for Greene County Ag Coop in Jefferson, Iowa. This unique fertilizer storage facility was engineered with straight sidewalls, independent roof and wall covers, multiple baseplate elevations, and a centrally positioned lean‑to. Despite a fast‑tracked schedule, challenging weather conditions, and intricate design requirements, the team delivered the project safely, on time, and to the client’s complete satisfaction.
Quick to Install & Cost Efficient Fabric Buildings
Fabric buildings can oftentimes be constructed in less than a week.
Fabric covered buildings are low maintenance, can be installed on a variety of foundations, and fabric structures are more affordable than traditional structures.
The fabric covering is resistant to UV rays while also allowing natural light through thereby reducing lighting costs and creating a safer work environment.
Clear Span Building Widths, Unlimited Length
Fabric buildings can clear span anywhere from 16 feet wide to more than 300 feet wide. Fabric structures can be virtually any length and can easily be lengthened further as your operations grow.
Fabric covered buildings can be installed on many different foundations such as concrete pad and piers, concrete blocks, sea containers, poured concrete walls, and more.
