Jobsite Rules Acknowledgement
Please read the following and complete the acknowledgment form at the end.
- Access to this site is restricted to employees and those authorized by Greystone Construction Company.
- All contractor personnel must attend the Greystone Safety Orientation prior to working on site. A “Greystone 4 Safety” sticker must be visible on hard hat.
- All visitors must check in with the Greystone job supervisor
- All subcontractors must have one crew member who is able to effectively communicate in English with GCC site supervision onsite at all times they have workers onsite.
- Hard hats and ANSI Z-87 safety glasses shall be worn by all contractors and visitors where required.
- Hard soled work boots (no tennis shoes), long pants and shirts with a minimum 4” sleeve are required.
- High visibility vests are required around earthmoving equipment, concrete truck or vehicle traffic.
- Hearing, hand and respiratory protection will be worn as required. No Headphones or Ear Buds allowed.
- Face shields and safety glasses must be worn during grinding, chipping, jack hammering or other activity which creates flying debris or hazard.
- Harassment, horseplay, fighting and inappropriate language will not be tolerated and may be grounds for immediate dismissal from the site.
- Use and /or possession of weapons, intoxicants, alcohol, or drugs are strictly prohibited.
- Know the locations of fire extinguishers, first aid kits, evacuation routes and gathering points

- All accidents, regardless of severity, must be immediately reported to the Greystone job supervisor. Written accident investigation reports are due within (24) hours to the Greystone safety director.
- Injuries to the Head require IMMEDIATE medical examination. NO EXCEPTIONS!
- Report all unsafe conditions and environmental hazards to the Greystone job supervisor.
- All damage to tools, materials, equipment, or property shall be reported to the Greystone job supervisor. You are responsible for your own protection and security of tools and materials.
- Smoking is allowed in designated areas only – No smoking inside the building once the shell is intact.
- Toolbox talks are mandatory to be performed and documented weekly.
- Fall Protection measures will be utilized at unprotected heights over 6 feet or in accordance with OSHA regulations for specific work tasks. A Fall Protection
Plan must be submitted to Greystone job supervisor. - Holes and floor openings larger than 2” must be covered or protected with guardrails. Covers must be labeled “Hole” and secured against displacement. If YOU create a safety hazard or remove any safety guard – YOU must fix /replace them immediately.
- Ladders are to be used in accordance with manufacturer guidelines on a level surface. 3 points of contact must be maintained when ascending or descending ladders. Extension ladders are to be secured and must extend at least 3’ above the landing surface.
- Scaffolds must be erected and inspected daily by a competent person. Tags indicating the scaffolds status must be present. Ladders must be attached or built into the frame. Only OSHA Compliant scaffolds shall be used.
- Only authorized personnel are permitted to operate equipment and/or vehicles. Daily inspections are required. Seat belt use is mandatory, when equipped. Cell phone use is prohibited when operating machinery.
- Before working in excavations, a competent person must inspect and determine soil type, excavation hazards and implement proper cave-in protection methods.
- Concrete / masonry contractors are to provide water / neutralizer for removal of hexavalent chromium and other concrete hazards from the skin.
- Flammable liquids must be kept in approved containers. All flammable waste such as soiled rags etc. must be stored in a flammable waste container and disposed of properly.
- Hot Work Permits are required prior to any activity which may produce a spark or flame near combustible areas.
- Compressed gas cylinders must be properly secured.
- Clean and organize your work area daily. Keep passageways and exits clear of all obstructions.
- Only trained and authorized employees will be permitted to use powder‐actuated tools.
- Power tools shall be kept in good working condition. They shall not be modified. Guards shall not be removed. Handles must be present if the tool requires it for use.
- A Silica Dust Exposure Control Plan listing methods that will be used to prevent silica dust exposure to employees must be submitted to the Greystone job supervisor prior to doing work where silica dust may be produced.
- Extension cords shall be 3-wire heavy duty round types free of damage with ground prong intact. GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters) must be used at all times. Extension cords shall be protected from damage caused by doors, windows, vehicles, metal studs etc. Avoid laying cords in hallways, stairways, landings, doorways etc. where they could become a trip hazard. Cords should be suspended when possible, using a nonconductive hangar. nspect all cords before use. Immediately remove damaged cords from jobsite.
- Temporary lights shall have protective covers and shall not be suspended from cords unless specifically designed for suspension. Electrical switch and cover plates shall never be removed on live circuits.
- Proper lockout/tagout procedures should be implemented prior to any activity where electrical, mechanical energy or stored energy hazards are present.
- Monitor daily and document carbon monoxide levels when using combustible engines/heaters in enclosed spaces.
- Prior to any steel erection, a Steel Erection Plan must submitted to the Greystone safety director. Critical Lift - Plans must be submitted to Greystone for review and approval at least 24 hours prior to work.
- Confined space entry must be planned and documented. Entrants and attendants must be properly trained.
- OSHA RULES ARE THE MINIMUM STANDARD THAT MUST BE FOLLOWED!!!
